Virgin in our Orthodox faith

Virgin in our Orthodox faith
Greatness of the Virgin

The greatness of the Virgin was decided by the Holy Council of Ephesus, which was held in 431 AD in the presence of 200 bishops of the world and put the preamble of the law of faith in which we said: "We magnify you, Mother of the true light, and glorify you, Holy Virgin, Mother of God. Introduction ? This is what we will explain now:
The Virgin: is the saint who is baptized, who continues to be corrected for generations as stated in her swearing: "Behold, from now on all the generations will repent to me" (Luke 1:46)
The Virgin was ordained by the Church by the Queen.

Therefore, many artists when they draw the image of the Virgin put a crown on her head and look in the image on the right of Jesus Christ and appears reverence of the Virgin in the greeting of the angel Gabriel: Peace to you, full of grace. God with you . Blessed are you in women (Luke 1:28)
A special blessing was also witnessed by St. Elizabeth, who cried with a loud voice and said to her: Blessed are you in women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb (Luke 1:42)
In the face of the greatness of the Virgin, St. Elisabeth looked in her own eyes and said in a sense of inadequacy, although Elizabeth knew that her son would be great before the Lord and that he would come in the spirit and strength of Elijah (Luke 1:15, 17)
"Where is this to me that the mother of my Lord will come to me" (Luke 1:43)
One of the clearest evidence of the greatness of the Virgin and her status with the Lord is that as soon as her peace arrived in Elizabeth, Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and felt her fetus and was joyfully exulting in her womb. The Divine Revelation said: When Elizabeth heard Mary's peace, the fetus ran in her belly, : 41)
It is truly an amazing grandeur that just her peace makes Elizabeth filled with the Holy Spirit! Who of the saints caused his peace to be filled with other Holy Spirit? But Elisabeth sees and says: Behold, when your peace is in my ears, the fetus rejoice with joy in my belly. Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit in the peace of Mary. She also received the gift of prophecy and revelation. Of joy and joy of course because of the blessed in the belly of the Virgin: blessing is the fruit of your belly (Lk 1: 41 - 45)
The greatness of the Virgin is manifested in the choice of the Lord among all the women of the world
The only person who has waited for the divine measure for thousands of years to find and see it is worthy of this great honor, which was explained by the angel Gabriel: "The Holy Spirit is coming upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, even the Holy One who is born of you claims the Son of God" (Luke 1: 35)
Virgin in the greatest of all women:
(31:39) Perhaps it is from this divine text that the Church's praise is received: Many women are honored, and none of them is like you.
This holy Virgin was in the thought of God and in his management from the beginning
In the salvation promised by our first parents, he said to them: The seed of the woman crushed the head of the serpent (Gen. 3:15). This woman is the virgin and her seed is the Christ who crushed the head of the serpent on the cross

Virgin Mary in the doctrine of the Church:

The Coptic Orthodox Church honors the Virgin Mary with the utmost respect and respect without exaggeration.

1 - is in the belief of the Church "Mother of God" and not the mother of "Jesus" as claimed Nestorians fought by St. Cyril of Alexandria and denied them the Council of Ephesus Ecumenical Holy.
2. The Church believes that the Holy Spirit sanctified the repository of the Virgin during the rope with Christ.
And as the angel said to her, "The Holy Spirit is coming upon you, and the power of the Most High will protect you, so that the Holy One who is born of you will claim the Son of God."
And the sanctification of the Holy Spirit to its repository makes the birthplace of her immaculate by the innate sin of the original. The Virgin herself was conceived by her mother like all other people, and so the Virgin said in her swearing: "And my soul rejoices in God my Savior" (Luke 1:47).
Therefore, the Church does not agree that the Virgin is conceived by the Immaculate Conception as original as our Catholic brothers believe.
3. The Church believes in the intercession of the Virgin Mary.
And put her intercession before the angels and the archangels, she is the Mother of God and she is the queen on the right of the king.
4 - The book calls the Virgin as "full of grace"
Unfortunately, the translation of the Virgin - to reduce the value of the Virgin - translates this title as "blessed" ... and all human beings blessed them, but the Virgin is full of grace. But grace does not mean infallibility.
5. The Church believes in the virginity of the Virgin.
This rule is distinguished only by our Protestant brothers who proclaim that the Virgin has sons after Christ.
6. The Church believes in the ascension of the body of the Virgin to heaven and returns to it in 16 june.
